New Project

Casted out Landscape, 2017

The project focuses on the repetitious nature of common types of houses that are unique to the English urban landscape. This is communicated by casting selected prototypes multiple times from a mould. I am interested in the shared memories of a place and documenting the typologies of the built form of Victorian terraced houses.

The process of casting multiples from a mould plays an important part in the project. Even though the same, each of the siblings is different from its original, similar to the slight differences of the Victorian working-class houses. We begin to question the idea of the original and the copy and the relationship between the mould and the cast.
