Mise en Abyme

The installation 'Placed into Abyss' is a further exploration of subjects surrounding repetition and the hierarchy of objects within the artistic process. Objects of process are usually discarded from the viewer hidden away in the studio. By liberating the ceramic mould from its purpose and exhausting its form into abstraction it becomes an autonomous object in its own right opening up to new ways of interpretation.
